"Old Friends"....Before (Artist: Trevor McShane):
When Los Angeles based East Of Sideways Music recording artist, Trevor McShane, returned home from a trip to Washington, D.C., he was excited about a jam session he had participated in that took place in the basement of a long time friend's house. Let's just say these three guys were having fun jamming with the help of some pretty good "spirits" for inspiration. The following music files were sent to me on CD and obviously were not professionally recorded.

I only used the original tracks I received. However, it took a great deal of editing just to come up with a cohesive basic guitar track. There were bars of 4, 13, 7, 3, etc. After putting the whole song into 4/4 time, I left a couple of odd bars in the mix just to keep some of the original "spirited" vibe. This version is not a final mix nor has it been mastered.

"Circus Of The Fall"   (Artist: Tilghman):
Tilghman was referred to me by vocal coach Sabine. The lyrics were completely written and I was given a cassette tape of her singing this song 'a capella'. She asked me to create music that was "mainstream". Tilghman is an artist in every sense of the word. Consequently, I knew that a "mainstream" Tilghman would still fall into an "eclectic" musical category. It was a challenge to produce tracks that really "fit" her. Tilghman gave me complete carte blanch on this project, so I created music the way I like it. I brought in Gary Mallabar (Van Morrison, Steve Miller) to play drums, and Miriam Filz, who I think is one of the best bass players on the planet! I played all the remaining instruments. Tilghman sang the lead vocals. I felt the song needed a bridge, so I wrote a bridge and also sang the lead to help support her voice. I recorded bass, drums and lead vocals at Bernie Becker Recording and Mastering in Burbank, CA. The remainder of the tracks were recorded at Bare Boy Recording, my home studio. The result is a piece of music I am extremely proud of.
